Geek’s mom just made this for a pot-luck and man oh man but it’s GOOD!!!
The recipe was being handed out by a representative of the Nossa Familia Coffee company with samples using their coffee and it was soo good Geek’s mom brought the recipe home.
She used Stumptown Coffee‘s decaf house blend since that’s what we had in the freezer from when my parents were here last (we don’t drink coffee).
For each 8oz of water, you need:
- 2T ground coffee (your locally roasted organic free trade happy)
- 3/4 tsp of cardamom
- 2oz sweetened condensed milk
- sugar to taste (we added none, the sweetened condensed milk was enough)
- bowl of ice
- Pyrex measuring cup or metal steam pitcher
Mix cardamom with ground coffee before brewing. Once coffee is brewed, put the sweetened condensed milk in the bottom of your pyrex measuring cup or metal steaming pitcher and pour the hot coffee over it. Add sugar to taste.
Set the container into a bowl of ice and stir the coffee from time to time while it cools. When your mixture is cold enough to pour over ice without melting it, pour the mixture into glasses of fresh ice and serve.
Be sure not to pour the mixture over ice before it’s cool as this will melt the ice and dilute the well balanced flavors of the recipe.
Way, way yummy.
We agree that making home-made icecream out of this is beyond a “must”, into the realm of urgent do as soon as possible! 🙂
